diy miu miu floral appliqué bikini

[left pic- net-a-porter]
This DIY is inspired by Miu Miu's applique bikini. It's a cute way to transform a basic string bikini.
  • String bikini (here's a top and bottom for $4.80/each)
  • 1/2 yard nylon/spandex fabric (I buy my swimwear fabric from here. They have a huge selection)
  • Needle & thread
  • Sharp scissors
[Cut out 2 flowers- one roughly measuring 1 1/2" wide and the other 1" wide. Place the smaller flower on top of the larger and pinch it in the middle, creating a 3D bloom]
[Tie a knot at the end of your thread and sew through the pinched area on the flower a few times so it will hold its' shape]
[Sew the flower on to the bikini top. When you are attaching flowers to the bottom of the triangle, be sure to only sew through the top layer of fabric. If you sew all the way through you will catch the string and you won't be able to adjust the top anymore]
[Keep the flowers spaced about 1/2" apart and concentrated around the edges of the triangle top]
