diy free people leather necklace

As soon as I saw this necklace on Free People, I knew it would be perfect to DIY! It's really easy to re-create using gold beads and strips of leather.

Supplies-
  • Leather (cut into strips for fringe)
  • Gold beads in medium and large sizes
  • Necklace closure and jump rings
  • Bead stringing wire
  • Leather needle
  • Black cord
  • Chain ( 2, 7 inch pieces)
[Attach the necklace closure to the chain using a jump ring]
[Take an 11 inch length of bead stringing wire and knot it to the end of the chain]
[String on a dozen or so small beads]
[Add a large bead and using the leather needle string on the leather fringe]
[Keep adding the beads and fringe until you reach 6 1/2" inches. Add the smaller beads. Then add the other length of chain and the necklace closure]
[Take an 18 inch of cord and tie it to each jump ring. Tie some beads on at the end of the cord]
[String some smaller beads on to the fringe]
