DIY twist back top

This is a really great DIY for beginner sewers who want to try their hand at making clothing. Cotton jersey is a great fabric to work with because it doesn't fray and it has beautiful drape.

Supplies-
  • Boxy t-shirt (to use as a pattern)
  • Cotton jersey fabric (1 yard total- I used 1/2 stripe and 1/2 yard melon)
[Fold your t-shirt in half and fold the sleeves over. Fold your fabric in half and use your t-shirt as a pattern. Cut out 2 pieces from the jersey. I added a few inches all around (except the shoulders) to give it more drape]
[Place the right sides of the t shirt together. Sew down one end at the shoulder and side seam. Twist the fabric completely around and sew down at the other side shoulder and seam]
