Coastal Mason Jar Organizer DIY

One of the reasons I love DIY projects so much is that it gives me the chance to re-imagine items in a whole new way. Oftentimes when I'm brainstorming DIY posts for the blog, I look around my craft room/garage/etc for objects that can be transformed into something better and more useful. It certainly stretches your creative muscle! April is Earth Month and I partnered with Tom’s of Maine “Luminous White™” Toothpaste Clean Mint to bring you this upcycled Coastal Mason Jar Organizer DIY!

I created this Mason Jar organizer using scrap wood and some mason jars I had lying around. I gave it a coastal vine be whitewashing the wood and using blue tinted jars instead of clear. I love the way this turned out! Not only does it fit in perfectly with my beach house decor, it's so useful. The things I frequently use are right at my fingertips. No more digging around in the medicine cabinet!

Earth Month gives us an opportunity to look at our daily choices and see how we can protect the planet. These can be larger changes like creating your own vegetable garden in the backyard or small ones like making Earth-friendly choices when shopping. Supporting companies like Tom's of Maine is a great way to be more natural and intentional about the brands you use. Tom’s of Maine “Luminous White™” Toothpaste Clean Mint is
Made up of biodegradable or mineral-derived ingredients and it contains No artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. This Mason Jar Organizer is the perfect place to store your toothpaste, toothbrush and cotton swabs. Let get crafting!

I wanted my board to have a whitewash finish, so I mixed my acrylic paint with water. When you are finished, let the board dry.

Arrange the 3 mason jars on the board so they are evenly spaced. Make marks on the cardboard on the bottom of the board. Remove the jars and using a ruler, make the 3 marks at the top of the board.

Drill pilot holes first to prevent the wood from splitting.

Screw the hose clamp into the pilot hole. Screw the other 2 hose clamps into the pilot holes.

The hose clamps can be opened and closed by turning the screw. This is handy for taking the mason jars off to clean. To hang the organizer, try to screw it into a beam. If this isn't possible, make sure you use anchors.
