Eugenia Kim Bow Hat Free Knitting Pattern
Longtime readers of this blog know that I'm a huge fan of Eugenia Kim's fun, chunky knits! Unfortunately, they come with a pretty hefty price tag so I love to create knitting patterns that are inspired by her designs. As soon as I saw this "Lina" hat I knew it was going to be my next creation! It's so cute and girly!
This hat is really fast & easy to knit. I finished the whole thing in an evening. The Eugenia Kim version has a fabric bow, but I thought it would be fun (and helpful to those who don't have a sewing machine) to do a knit bow.
I hope you like the pattern! Happy Knitting!

Cast on 46 sts. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 11 inches.
Shape the crown:
Knit 1, Knit 2 together until you left with a handful of stitches. Break yarn, thread through stitches and pull to tighten. Weave in ends.

For the bow (the bow is knit in 2 separate pieces)
Using the Size 3 needles, cast on 22 sts. Work in garter stitch until piece measures 10 inches from the cast on edge. Bind off.

For the band: cast on 8 sts. Work in garter stitch until piece measures 4 inches. Bind off.
Finishing: Cinch the middle of the bow with your fingers. Wrap the band around and stitch in place. Sew the bow to the hat. I also tacked down the sides of the bow by adding a stitch to each side.
